Before Your Appointment

• A consultation is required before you can book an appointment. A consultation is a short pre-appointment meeting in which your stylist may give you such information as the estimated duration of your appointment, what to expect at your appointment, type of hair to buy if you are adding extensions and price of your desired style. If you do not have a style in mind the stylist will also show you a portfolio of the services offered in order to help you in your decision. During this period the stylist is available to answer any questions you may have and will examine your hair to determine whether your desired hairstyle is suitable for your hair and lifestyle.
• Most non-extension and extension styles require that your hair be at least 2-3 inches depending on your hair texture. In cases where the client's hair is not long enough for the desired style the stylist may advice a modified or different style. Some styles (e.g. comb coil twists) require that your hair be completely in its natural state (i.e. no permed, pressed, or textured hair) before they can be rendered.
• For all first time appointments, a deposit of 50% of the price of the desired service is required before your appointment can be booked.
• Your stylist may call you as a courtesy to remind you of your appointment BUT remember, it is your sole responsibility to honor your appointment.
• Clients must arrive to their appointments with hair that is clean, free of tangles, and undamaged unless otherwise agreed upon by the stylist at the consultation. Shampoos are not part of the main service and cost an additional $15-$25.

Late Fees

(A) For services ranging from 1.5-4 hrs

1. We reserve the right to assess late fees at $1/min up to the first 15 minutes. For clients getting lock maintenance there will be a 15 minutes cutoff point whereby you will be considered a no-show.
2. If you do show up after the cutoff point you will be required to pay for that slot before you can book another slot. If we can accommodate you we will but please realize that the late fee will be added to the price of your appointment and if there is still work to be done after the allotted appointment period your service will be finished a shop assistant if one is present.

(B) For services requiring more than 4 hrs

• We reserve the right to assess late fees at $1/min up to the first 30 minutes. Thirty minutes is the cutoff point. After 30 minutes see part (1) above.

(C) Addendum

• Clients need to have the full amount upon completion of their appointment or we reserve the right to ask for pre-payment on your next appointment.
• For clients who are habitually late or no shows we reserve the right to have you pre-pay your appointment before it can be booked.

Last Minute Changes

Due to the way we book our appointments it can be difficult, if not impossible to accommodate last minute changes. To keep you and other clients happy we request that all changes to your appointment be made no later that 48 hours before the appointed time in order to eliminate infringement upon the time of others. Last minute changes can include but are not limited to:

1. not shampooing/cleaning hair and scalp prior to appointment
2. not removing or improper removal of former style
3. not thoroughly detangling hair prior to appointment
4. requesting an auxiliary service only to cancel request upon arrival at appointment
5. changing type, length, or size of style
6. removing more braids, twists, etc. for maintenance than that which was previously agreed upon

We mention these changes only so you can be aware of the effect of your actions and be empowered to make informed choices. In doing so we hope to be able to serve you better and improve inter-client relations.

Consequences of Last Minute Changes

1. In situations where completing the request will cause us to infringe on another's time (e.g. a last minute shampoo for lock maintenance) and where the outcome of the main service will be affected (e.g. dirty braids, locks, etc.) we reserve the right to reschedule your appointment and charge you the full amount.
2. In situations where prior request is changed upon arrival to appointment and will cause that block of time to go unused we reserve the right to charge you the full previously agreed upon price of your appointment.
