Question:

Are human hair extensions better than synthetic hair extensions?

Answer:

Neither hair types are necessarily better than the other. Both have the ability to be healthy for the hair or damage the hair if misused. Depending on the desired use, wearing human hair extensions can be advantageous, especially if you wish to have a loose, free flowing look, with the possibility of tangles. However, human hair has it's limits such as cost, available lengths, and sculpt ability(the ability to braid the hair into styles that will permanently hold the styles shape).

Question:

Can you strip a perm to get a natural hairstyle?

No. At this time, there is no product that will strip a perm and turn your hair completely natural. In the process of relaxing the hair, hair bonds are permanently broken and do not reform except in the new growth of hair.

Question:

Does natural hair cause tender headedness?

Answer:

No. Natural hair does not cause your hair to be more tender. This is caused when the scalp is not properly stimulated: the muscles become tighter and the nerves more sensitive. Because of this sensitivity, any stimulus such as improper combing or detangling will cause pain. But this is not due to the hair being natural, because this can occur when the hair is permed also.

Question:

Are extension braids unhealthy for the hair?

Answer:

Braids are healthy for the hair but like anything else, must be done with care and moderation. The culprits that give braiding a bad image are, misinformation and lack of knowledge of proper hair and scalp care. It is also important to note, braids should be put on hair that is healthy to begin with. Putting extensions on hair that is already damaged can further weaken the hair and lead to hair loss. This is why we advise clients not to braid hair that is freshly permed or shows signs of breakage.

Question:

Is is better that you get a perm before getting braid extensions?
